• Get a preview of the chapter by reading the chapter outline
   

2.  Preview the new terms introduced in this chapter.

• Remember: one of the most important things you need to learn in an introductory course is the LANGUAGE of business.  Sometimes, these business terms are defined in ways that differ significantly from their everyday meanings. 
   

3.  Read through the chapter in your textbook.  

• I encourage you to use a highlighter and pencil to mark key phrases and make notes in the margins.  Pay particular attention to the new terms introduced and defined in the chapter margins.
